Once dialing 4 and letting go of the
dial, it spins to the normal position. This action causes
the the dial to open and closes the line loop four times.
At this point, this is the last digit to be dialed, and the
connector switch takes 4 steps in a rotary direction to the
terminals of the called line. A line test is made and if
the line is found idle the connector switch places ringing
current on the called subscriber line. If the line is
found busy, the connector places a busy tone on the calling
subscriber line.
