Once dialing 0 and letting go of the
dial, it spins to the normal position. This action causes
the the dial to open and closes the line loop 10 times causing
the first selector switch in your central office to make 10
vertical steps. It then hunts across the tenth level for an idle
trunk to the dial system "A" switchboard. From
this point, the operator
will handle the call to its completion.
